Cheval Cathare offers a high-altitude ride through grandiose and varied landscapes, where we ride past natural lakes and ponds every day.
In all, we'll come across no less than twenty of them!
These precious bodies of clear water are nestled in the mountains, which also offer wild stretches for a few gallops along the ridges.
Our motivated and caring horses will take us through simple and authentic places.

Day 1 : Sunday
Riders meet at Espousouille (66) starting at 6 p.m.
Introduction to the horses, the team and the ride, meal and night in the lodge.
Day 2 : Monday
For this first day with your horses, we take the Vauban trail to Puyvalador Lake and the village of Rieutor. We climb up to the Puyvalador resort town on trails that allow us to pick up some speed. Following a narrow path, we reach Quérigut Lake (alt. 1877 m) for a picnic. We cross the state forest of Les Hares and descend towards Donezan, heading for the pretty village of Quérigut.

Day 3 : Tuesday
Saddle up for Sansa Pass and ride to the edge of the Estanyols Lakes. Picturesque picnic.
A beautiful afternoon of riding on ridge trails with panoramic views of the Capcir and Haut-Conflent regions takes us to the Torn Pass refuge (alt. 1865 m).

Day 4 : Wednesday
We leave the refuge to descend to Matemale Lake, then head up to Barres Forest. Aude Lake invites us to enjoy a gorgeous picnic lunch!
We then set course for Les Bouillouses Lake and the Bones Hores hotel (alt. 2050 m), where we will spend 2 nights.
Day 5 : Thursday

A magnificent ride through the Carlit Lakes awaits us: La Pradelle Lake, Black Lake, Llat, Long and Sec Lakes... each with its own name and unique beauty...
Day 6 : Friday
Another beautiful day, departure from Les Bones Hores around the edge of Les Bouillouses Lake.
In a gorgeous setting of grassy ridges, water, rocks and hooked pines, we discover La Grave Valley and then arrive at the Les Camporells Lakes, in which we can see the reflection of the two Perics peaks. We climb to La Muntanyeta Pass (alt. 2312 m), then a beautiful trail along the ledge leads us down Galbe Valley to Espousouille.
Our horses have earned a well-deserved rest before embarking on a new adventure!
